About Me
This is a snapshot of my life.
My name is Ros Curtis, I am 64 this year (although I often forget I'm not 39 any more).
I have a hectic life. I am a wife, mother, nan, sister, friend, counsellor, babysitter, chauffer, personal shopper and confidante.
I like the cinema, especially science fiction. I like to read, knit, sew and write. I like to keep in touch with my friends which usually involves eating or drinking (preferably both).
I live in Cardiff, South Wales with my husband, who I call The Grump due to his sunny nature! We have three daughters, all married, and six grandchildren and they all live within walking distance. We are a very close family in every way.
I was a legal secretary up until I had children and when the youngest was about to start school my parents came to live with us and I became a full time carer.
Twelve years later I found myself looking for a way back into employment and found a job in our local newspaper the South Wales Echo.
I loved the buzz of the newsroom and stayed for 17 years, starting off as a copytaker and ending up as a production artist. During that time I wrote a column called Nan's World about my grandchildren's antics, and lots of reviews on entertainment and travel.
Suddenly I was redundant and I began Route 60 - The Road to Retirement. Some may think retirement is boring - not me!
